Some Guidelines to Help Plan Your 06-07 Season
September 2006
October 2006
  • Attend Team Manager Training: October 14th at Crofton Middle School
  • Read the Rules of the Road (copy for each team member and parents!)
  • Meet with parents about meeting guidelines (rules, infractions, etc.)
  • Begin team meetings (1-2 x week)
  • Pick a challenge
  • Begin solving using CPS "tools" (generating/focusing)
  • Make calendar with requirements, people schedule, parent help,etc.
November/December
2006
  • Attend Team Manager and Team Member Training: November 4th at Carver Center for the Arts and Technology
  • Register for Regional Tournament
  • Continue meetings/increase time and frequency as needed
  • Practice IC at all meetings
  • Collect materials needed for solution
  • Check for Clarifications
  • Recruit a qualified and enthusiastic Appraiser
  • Contact RD to share how things are going/tournament requirements
January 2007
  • Attend Pre-tournament Team Manager Workshop on January 6, 2007 at Towson University
  • Register for Appraiser training on February 3, 2007 (locations TBD) or February 10, 2007 at Towson University
  • Continue working on challenges (team and IC)
  • Continue to check for Clarifications
  • Recruit Extra Helper for Regional Tournament
February 2007
  • Polish presentation of challenge
  • Do paperwork/run through
  • Be sure Appraiser attends training
  • Appraiser training on February 3, 2007 (locations TBD) or February 10, 2007 at Towson University
  • Final Clarification date is mid February 2007
  • Present solution for organization as Dress Rehearsal
  • Plan (enlist parental help) for post-tournament celebration
March 2007
  • First Regional Tournaments on March 3, 2007!
  • Teams advancing to States should continue to practice challenge/IC
April 2007
  • Maryland Festival of Creativity on April 21, 2007 at Towson University
May 2007
  • Global Finals at University of Tennessee (Knoxville) from May 23 - 26, 2007
  • Start planning for next year!
